I wanted to tell you about the great fishing that we are having over here in North Central Washington.

First and foremost, the fishing at Rufus Woods Reservoir is smoking hot! Our guide on Rufus, Joe Heinlen has been averaging 10 fish per HOUR. These are mostly 2 to 5 pound triploid rainbows with some smaller Spokane strain Rainbows and some larger triploids. On light gear it is an absolute scream! These are full day trips with a minimum of 2 adults. He can accommodate groups of up to 6.

Unlike a lot of fisherman at Rufus that are using bait, we are able to catch and release and keep you fishing because of our no-bait trolling and casting presentations. That way you can truly enjoy this fishery and take the 2 fish that you want to keep when you are ready. Our guide has been developing his techniques there for over 5 years and you will learn a lot from his many innovations. Not to mention, Joe is one the greatest guys there is to spend a day on the water with.

Additionally, it is a winter fishery. This normally would mean that you need to freeze to fish. Not on Joe's boat. His propane heater and enclosed cabin allows you to stay warm, dry and comfortable.

Second, Lake Chelan has been consistently excellent for eating-sized lake trout. Since the middle of September, we have been averaging between 1.5 and 2.5 fish per hour deepwater trolling for mostly 2 to 6 pound lakers. Again, we fish from a full-cabin boat with an enclosed marine head, heat and even a dinette.
